Common questions

  • Is this image compressor free?

    ExpandExpand Hover

Yes. This image compressor runs in your browser. There is no account and no fee.

  • Are my images uploaded?

    ExpandExpand Hover

No. Encoding happens on this device. Nothing is sent to a server for processing.

  • Can I set the quality?

    ExpandExpand Hover

Yes for JPG, WebP, and GIF. Open settings and choose Quality. It starts at 75. PNG and SVG stay lossless, so they have no quality control. Target size still aims for a file size instead of that number.

  • Can I convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP?

    ExpandExpand Hover

Yes. The output menu applies to JPG, PNG, and still WebP. GIF, SVG, and animated WebP stay in their own format.

  • Why does the file size sometimes stay the same?

    ExpandExpand Hover

Some images are already as small as they can be. Compressing them again would not make a smaller file, so you keep the original and the size looks unchanged.

  • Can I compress image files in a batch?

    ExpandExpand Hover

Yes. Add up to 50 images, each up to 25MB. Click the button and download them as one ZIP.
